Notting Hill Carnival kicks off with J’Ouvert from 6:00–9:00 am, a lively street celebration starting at Sainsbury’s by Canal Way Roundabout, where revellers throw paint, powder, and chocolate to the sound of pounding music. The Official Opening Ceremony follows at 10:00 am on Great Western Road. Sunday is dedicated to the Children’s Day Parade, celebrating young performers in colourful handmade costumes. For those who love high-energy fun, Dutty/Fun Mas invites participants to get messy and dance through the streets in a wild, paint-splattered parade. From 12:00–7:00 pm, Sound Systems across the Carnival deliver everything from Reggae and Rare Groove to House and Samba, while Live Stages in Emslie Horniman’s Pleasance Park and Powis Square (times TBC) host a mix of live music and performances throughout the day.
