This half term, join us for a series of free art workshops in Coal Drops Yard curated by N4 Makers’ Market. Whether you’re drawing your own greeting card or designing a comic book, there’s plenty of fun to be had and plenty of mess to be made.
There’s no need to book, just drop in to the main square in Coal Drops Yard from Wednesday 18 to Sunday 22 February, 11am–3pm daily.
All sessions are completely free and perfect for children aged 5–12.
Half Term Sessions
Doodle, Smudge, Stamp & Scratch! with Play Forms | Wed 18 February
A joyfully messy workshop, where children can use silly drawing tools, hands, recycled materials, sticks, brushes and plants to create their own visual world. Hosted by Dominika Lipniewska, aka Play Forms, a London-based independent artist and designer.
Magic Mail: Draw Your Own Greetings Card with Natalie Byrne | Thu 19 February
A calm, playful, and creative space where children can slow down, doodle freely and enjoy making their own hand-drawn colouring-in greeting card. Natalie Byrne is a London-based illustrator.
Life in the Soil: Doodle the Underground World with noodlesndooodles | Friday 20 February
Using pencils, chalk and charcoal children will doodle and draw creatures inspired by life in the soil. Led by Idalina Lehtonen, otherwise known as noodlesnoodles, a self-taught illustrator and creative educator with a Montessori background.
Design Your Own Comic Book, Zine or Storybook with Beeillustrates | Sat 21 February
This is an imagination-fuelled workshop where children use drawing as a form of storytelling, as they are guided through the steps of making their own folded mini book. Bee, aka Beeillustrates, is an award-winning illustrator and interdisciplinary creative.
Zentangle Stories: Drawing with Patterns with Emily Lodge Illustration | Sun 22 February
In this relaxed doodling session, children are encouraged to observe the world around them and let their imaginations flow through simple, pattern-based drawing. Emily Lodge is an illustrator and printmaker who loves working with bold, vibrant colour and drawing inspiration from the natural world.
