Cuffley is home to a 96-acre woodland site is a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) and contains a wonderful range of flora and fauna.

Brimming with massive veteran chestnuts and birches this spectacular woodland plays host to our Camp Wilderness Kids and Families outdoor adventures.

Camp Wilderness is all about getting back-to-basics on a good old fashioned summer camp adventure… whether you’re hoping to re-wild your kids, or get the whole family back outdoors there’s a wilderness escape for everyone at Camp Wilderness.

Once upon a time, nestled deep within the enchanting wilderness, there stood a camp like no other – Camp Wilderness. It was a place where young adventurers embarked on thrilling journeys, immersing themselves in the wonders of nature and honing their bushcraft skills.

Camp Wilderness is a rite of passage, where children transform into young adventurers, ready to face any challenge that comes their way. It is a place where they discover their true potential, nurture their love for nature, and embrace the spirit of exploration.
At Camp Wilderness we take pride in delivering kids holiday camps that offer a break from the plugged-in world and re-wild them in the wilderness. We have designed 8 different holiday camp types for children of all abilities – and families too! Our camps range from traditional camping in bell tents to wooden eco pods in the woodland all the way to brick and mortar accommodation in the heart of natural wonders.

A child can join any of our May half term and summer camps that they are age-eligible for but also have the option to progress through different camps while building on previous skills and taking their adventure to the next levels.

Cuffley: 

• 3-Day Explorer Camp: Our 3 Day residential camps are a great way for children to experience an overnight camp without being away from home for too long.
• 5-Day Explorer Camp: Our 5 Day residential camps are a true escape to the wild, giving children the chance to immerse themselves in the wild.
• 3-Day Thrill Seeker Camp & 5-Day Thrill Seeker Camp: This is our multi-activity camp for campers who have been on our Explorer camps but fancy something with a bit more adrenaline!
• 3-Day Family Camp: Our three-day camp will take your experience to the next level.

Penshurst Place:

• 3-Day Explorer Camp: Our 3 Day residential camps are a great way for children to experience an overnight camp without being away from home for too long.
• 5-Day Explorer Camp: Our 5 Day residential camps are a true escape to the wild, giving children the chance to immerse themselves in the wild.
• Advanced Explorer Camp: This camp has an exhilarating line up of activities and challenges for our more advanced campers. 
• 3-Day Family Camp: Our three-day camp will take your experience to the next level.

What age do the children need to be:
For 3-Day & 5-Day Explorer camps, where your children will be staying with us without parents - 8years - 12years.
For 3-Day & 5-Day Thrill Seeker Camps, where your children will be staying with us without parents - 10years - 14years.
For 5-Day Advanced Explorer Camps, where your children will be staying with us without parents - 10years - 14years.
For the Family 3-Day camps, we welcome children from 6years old. 

What will they be eating:
All of our meals are freshly cooked on-site by experienced Field Cooks, and made up of high-quality ingredients.
The menu changes daily, offering a wide variety of delicious, exciting meals, all of which are eaten communally, around the central campfire. The children are also taught how to prepare their own meals, cooking over open fires.
Every camp is a nut-free zone, and we cater for every dietary requirement and food allergy, including vegetarian, pescatarian, vegan, halal, gluten free, nut free, lactose free and kosher diets.
